Duping foreign firm: Central agencies start investigation against CPM leader’s son

NEW DELHI: The Central Government agencies have started an investigation against the son of a senior CPM leader against whom a noted company in Dubai has filed a cheating complaint.

The RAW and the Intelligence Bureau are investigating the case after being tipped off the case, sources said.

The central agencies got wind of the case after the media leaked details of the case, which was submitted to the CPM central secretariat.

The main allegation is that the leader’s son had duped a tourism company in Dubai to the tune of Rs 13 crore. This has created a big political controversy in Kerala.

The RAW and IB are collecting the minutest details of the case, the sources added. The Centre wants to corner CPM, which is the arch-rival of the BJP, with the details of the case.

The recent pro-China and North Korea statements by the CPM had infuriated the Centre and the BJP as well. In this situation, the case has become a handy tool for the BJP to hit at the CPM.

The BJP leaders have made it clear that the Centre will provide all help to the company if it moves the Interpol to nab the culprit who left the country after duping it.
