DYFI leaders are in state committee, but a decision on SFI president Sanu is awaited

THRISSUR: The CPM state secretariat has decided to include DYFI all-India president PA Mohammed Riyaz and state president A N Shamseer in the new state committee of the party, sources said.

But it hasn’t decided on including SFI all-India president VP Sanu in the committee.

The state committee has decided to seek the opinion of the CPM central leadership on taking VP Sanu in the committee.

The party has been following a line to include national and state leaders of the DYFI and CPM in the state committee.

The then SFI national president V Sivadasan was included in the state committee in the last state conference.

But the present SFI president VP Sanu is a new face in the CPM Malappuram district committee and he became the district committee member only at the recent district conference.

So, some senior party leaders are of the view that he should not be considered for the state committee in this situation. He can be made an invitee, they added.

However, a final decision on including Sanu will be taken at the state committee which will be held in the presence of CPM national general secretary Sitaram Yechury and senior leader Prakash Karat.
